Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Past Paper

Here at literacy skills test, we help our learners prepare for their functional skills maths exam. A key part of a revision scheme is past exam papers. In this article we will discuss how to access the level 2 past papers and then how to use them effectively as part of a comprehensive revision plan.
The functional skills maths level 2 past papers can be accessed on a number of different websites. It is important that when using the past papers that you are aware that the papers before 2019 are missing certain content as new specifications have been introduced since then. The different exam boards all offer their own individual past papers but they all use the same government curriculum so there is little difference between them. The only real difference is the exam structure, they may have a different number of sections for the calculator and non-calculator sections for instance and slightly different timings. However, they are all still useful to use for revision materials.
Once you have covered every subject area and feel confident, you should move onto doing your first functional skills maths level 2 past paper. We advise you to complete your past papers and mock exams in exam condition so you are aware of what it will be like. After you’ve finished your practise paper, you can use the mark schemes to help mark the paper or ask your tutor to do this for you. This should enable you to identify your weaker topics to focus on. It is important that you don’t worry too much about the pass mark to begin with and focus more on the past papers as a way to help your revision. Once you have completed a number of mocks you should start to see your mark improve as you approach your exam date.
