What are functional skills?

Many people who are looking for qualifications that are equivalent to GCSEs should seriously be considering functional skills. Functional skills qualifications are the perfect alternative to GCSE grade C and will open up opportunities in different courses and jobs. Many career paths like nursing and teaching require qualifications to proceed, while some employers in more professional jobs need some for you to even have a chance. Learners of all ages can take these exams as there are many people who have other responsibilities in their everyday life and may have limited time to attend to themselves. This is one of the reasons why it has been increasing in popularity recently.
To pass in these exams you just need to get the pass marks as this is simply a pass or fail qualification. As long as you get 50% – 60% then you will be awarded with a certificate to verify that you have passed. The first step to be taken is getting registered. Ofqual regulated exam centers are there to get you up and running with the one we recommend being Pass Functional Skills. You will be given course materials and instructions to get you fully prepared for taking the exams. It is also important to remember that these exams can be taken from your own home, in your own time, to work around the possibly busy schedules learners may have. This gives everyone a chance to get their qualifications and still have a path towards achieving their goals. Flexibility is one of the key aspects of functional skills and always will be with the help of online invigilation.
