If you are looking to prepare and practice for your QTS Skills Test then read our following steps for success. The following pointers are based on the experience we have had helping thousands of people pass their QTS tests every year. The steps to success in the QTS test are:

  1. QTS Skills Test Book – Many people start with a QTS revision guide or even a GCSE Maths book. These are a good place to learn the theory of the test but not a great place to practice for the exam. Think of it like your GCSE, you can revise from your revision guide but you make most of the improvements from doing past papers.
  2. Government QTS Tests – These are a great place to start your test practice.
  3. QTS Videos – These are a great way to pick up tips and tricks for the different topics within the numeracy and literacy skills test. Video explanations are often useful as you can pause and rewind them and cover the content at your own speed.
  4. QTS Skills Practice Tests – Practise, practise and more practise is the key to passing both of your QTS Skills Tests. However, making sure you get the right kind of practice papers is essential. There aren’t any QTS skills past papers as the test papers change all of the time, but at QTS Literacy Tutor we do provide excellent literacy skills practice tests. You can access the numeracy skills tests from QTS Maths Tutor.
  5. QTS Skills Tutors – Getting a specialist tutor for either or both of your QTS tests is a smart move for two types of situation. Firstly, if you are struggling to prepare for tests and you’re scoring poorly on the practice tests then the tuition will really help. Secondly, if your deadline is approaching and you need to pass your test quickly then a QTS tutor can help you get it done.

Good luck with your QTS Skills Test prep!
